(and my nick name is "Pila")
Art and design have roots in my family since I can remember, and were present at all times.
My parents, an architect and a dentist, were passionate about everything intellectually original, unique.
From an early age, I remember music being part of our lives, my parents hosted social gatherings where at least one adult played the guitar or piano.
My mother’s weekly plan for my sister and me was all about cultural adventures, from going to the theater or ballet to operas and movies.
With such a rich presence of art all around me, it did not take long for me to choose art as my path in my life.
My older sister is an architect. My academic interest did not fall far from that area: I became a graphic designer.
My husband is an architect as well and our daughter is a designer. It is evident that design is prevalent in my family.
A year after my graduation, I attended an art exhibition at the National Library of Buenos
Aires by Perez Celis, an internationally renowned Argentine artist.
I was fortunate enough to spend some time with him and his wife during the exhibition and learn more about his talented work.
A few private meetings followed until he enthusiastically offered me to be his personal graphic designer. This great opportunity allowed me to visit his atelier frequently, and this magical place left me mesmerized by his canvas over and over while the incredible amount of brushes and paint colors seemed to captivate my heart more and more with each visit.
This state of admiration triggered a strong desire to get my own canvas and to start painting without ever having been trained before. Ever since that day, I find refuge and pleasure in painting from my heart while my daily work continues to be in graphic design.
I am a simple combination of images, colors, lights, experiences and forms that can transform me into a VISUAL CONCEPT where taste prevails over the conventional.
I'm a woman who has worked independently for the past 30 years, designing for my own clients and painting as a hobby.
Art is a form of expression for me; I don't see it as work.
